Western Lions RLFC
About Our Western Lions
West End Athletes (WEA’s) Rugby League Club was born in 1924. WEA’s club culture stood the test of time, picking up where they left off before WW2 in merging their junior and senior committees in the late ’70s and changing their club headquarters. Through strength and determination, what is now known as the great Western Lions Rugby League Club was formed in 2004. In their first competition year, WLRLFC fielded 7 teams and North Queensland legend Vern Daisy steered the under 17’s team to a grand final victory. The old boys continue to be a part of the next generation of our great club.
